Sadly the company we have been using for 3 - 4 years (Slideshare) is stopping its slide/audio synchronisation service (Slidecast) as from the end of April 2014. This means that all presentations we have recorded up until now will be converted into static slideshows with no audio. We will attempt to republish some of these slidecasts using different technology but Slideshare are only letting us have the original files back so we will have to re-synchronise everything and that will take a lot of time.
From now on we will present synchronised slidecasts via software called iSpring. This has several advantages e.g. you will be able to see all slides and move from one to another by clicking on the titles on the right hand side. The slides can be seen more clearly too, and people will be able to use a broader range of viewing devices. However we have found that the system has to download more data to start each presentation and that leads to one drawback - it takes up to a minute or two to start even on fast broadband connections. We hope you find the wait worth it!
NOTE This month we could not record audio of the VOICE meeting as legal restrictions mean it has to be private so that all participants are protected.
