Facebook communities

Facebook Communities are far reaching, covering billions of people around the world. One of our main aims is to reach as many people as possible with information about aspergillosis infections and to let them know that we offer specialist advice and support based at the NHS funded National Aspergillosis Centre in Manchester, UK.

There may well be several tens of millions of people in the world who suffer from aspergillosis or Severe Asthma with Fungal Sensitivity (SAFS) and this is one opportunity for us to be able to find them, make contact and help if we can.

We have several Facebook communities that designed for a variety of purposes:

Some are designed to be active informal communities for us to highlight information; media stories, research, meetings, and to answer any questions arising.

Other groups are private and require membership - this is simply to prevent the discussions in those groups becoming public - we will not be restricting membership of any group. These groups offer direct support and information on local support meetings around the UK (and one day - the world!).

Some are just information portals e.g. we have one covering fungal disease research and the Fungal Infection Trust (formerly Fungal Research Trust).

Whatever you want to do - drop by and join in with one of the sites, they are full of friendly people who understand aspergillosis who are more than happy to chat.

NOTE: As you join up and browse around the pages and become our 'Facebook Friend', remember to click on 'Like' and 'Share' as much as possible. Every time you do this it enhances our ranking in search engines and increases our ability to reach more people.
